Your Local Mac Man
My name is David Hacker and I've been helping people with their Apple Macs since 2006. Not in a shop, not over a chatbot — but in person, at your kitchen table, at your own pace, with a cup of coffee.
200 Macs and a Never-Ending Job List
I discovered Apple Macs in 1999 whilst working at Paragon Publishing in Bournemouth — one of the UK's largest entertainment publishing companies. My job was looking after over 200 Macs across the building. It was relentless, brilliant, and I loved every minute of it.
Before that I'd spent years in IT working with serial modems, linking accounts offices across the UK and the USA. But Macs were different — there was something about them that just made sense. I've never looked back.
Going it Alone — in People's Homes
In 2006 I set up Apple Mac Man and started doing what I'd always believed IT support should be — going to people rather than making them come to me. No dropping your computer off at a shop. No waiting a week. No getting it back with everything in the wrong place.
I come to your home, sit with you, and sort things out properly. And I don't leave until you're happy and you understand what was done.
No Jargon, No Rush
Many of the people I help are older — perhaps not completely comfortable with technology. No such thing as a silly question in my book. Computers are confusing, and nobody is born knowing how they work.
I take as long as is needed. I explain things in plain English. And I always make sure you feel confident before I leave — not just that the problem is fixed, but that you understand it.
